TORRE DEI PASSERI, Paolo Fraticelli’s studio(?), 1672.Majolica painted in blue and yellow on a milky white surface. Recto: “Bird bringing a twig in the beak, placed on a cartouche with inscription AVE GRAZIA and a written AQUA DE MELE below; verso: blue letter T crossed by two intersecting sticks (?) and, in the center, the date 1672.
H. cm.16; Ø b. cm. 9. Condition: discrete; some stickingsBeautiful albarello in baroque style. Both the bird on the front side and the letter T on the back should indicate the production place, which is Torre dei Passeri in Abruzzo. The date 1672 suggests the manufacture of Paolo Fraticelli, potter already emigrated to Torre from Castelli in 1665.
