Precious, etruscan carnelian scarab intaglio. Hercules. The hero is naked, turned three quarters to the right (head in profile); he is leaning agaist the club with his right hand, while lifting the left one. Thin, engraved frame around the figure, the which has been created through big globular elements and finished with thinner engraving traits. Dark, blood-red colour. The scarab, of a simple shape, has a longitudinal through-hole, and shows wear marks. Beautiful work, typical and structured through well-composed masses. 4th-3rd century B.C.
