Vicki! I-I thought I heard your voice - Announcement, 1968
Colored serigraphy on paper, 42 x 58,5 cm

Rare affiche limited edition created for the exhibition at Kestner-Gesellshaft in Hannover from 11 April to 12 May 1968. Based on the original painting created by Roy Lichtenstein in 1964. Theodor Schafer, Hannover The cultural association for contemporary art KestnerGesellschaft 'was founded by the citizens of Hannover in 1916, during the First World War, in honor of the diplomat and art collector August Kestner, but in 1936 it was closed by Hitler's Nazi government and the works of artists banned as' Degenerated Art' . Only at the end of the two wars reopened and realized important exhibitions with artists such as Pablo Picasso, Marcel Duchamp, Eva Hesse, Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. Artist Pop, Roy Lichtenstein is also a true experimenter, inventor of icons and pictorial codes, confusing the boundaries between figuration and abstraction, between pictorial and three-dimensional object, between unique and mass-produced work. His paintings inspired by the romance comics are certainly the most famous. Lichtenstein women who represent a typical element of her production, have a fresh, fragile and uniform look, as if they all came out of the same makeup.
