VERA GOBBI BELCREDI
Roma 1903 – ivi 1999
ANNAMARIA

Lot including numerous letters, photographs and autograph manuscripts. Daughters of Giacomo Gobbi Belcredi, journalist and the first Italian "special correspondent" both had an important role in the Italian cultural and political life of the 40s and 50s. Vera Belcredi began her piano studies at a very young age under the guidance of Ines Galamini. In 1920 she graduated as a private student at the Royal Academy of "Santa Cecilia" in Rome. Later she continued her piano studies with her teacher Ines Galamini and Marco Enrico Bossi. In 1931 Alfredo Casella was appointed to take the first specialist piano course at the Santa Cecilia Academy in Rome. Vera Gobbi Belcredi took part in this course and was therefore one of his earliest students. Once the specialization course was completed in 1935 under the constant guidance of Casella, Vera Gobbi Belcredi received the award from the Ministry of Music Education. From 1950 Vera Belcredi taught at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. We highlight the important correspondence with Leone Senigaglia, the notes and diaries related to Casella. Where her sister Annamaria Gobbi Belcredi is concerned, the lot contains correspondence with Fraccaroli, Terracini and Carandini and the material relating to the P.E.N. Club. The archive contains a large number of letters, documents and minutes related to the activity of the club after the war. (for a detailed list, see the document attached to the lot)
