ROGER DUCASSE
(Bordeaux 1873 – Le Taillan-Médoc 1954)

Four signed autograph letters, dated around 1926, one containing thanks for the opportunity to submit his works to the painstaking critical assessment of Guido M. Gatti: “… Jean Roger-Ducasse studied at the Paris Conservatory under Emile Pessard and André Gedalge, and was a friend of Gabriel Fauré. He succeeded Fauré as professor of composition and in 1935 he succeeded Paul Dukas as professor of orchestration. All in-8.
