Unique Print 86.57 - N. IIIB.2 Catalog Raisonné 'Feldman & Shellmann 1962-1987'. Stamped on the back 'Authorized by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts' and 'The Estate of Andy Warhol'. On the inscription front: 'Washington Monument' printed on the left margin, 'Copyright Andy Warhol Enterprises, Inc., 1974' printed on the right margin. Published in the catalog for the 'Pop Icons' exhibition at the Restelliartco Gallery, Rome from 20 January to 6 February 2015, authorized by 'The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc' by SIAE 2015.

The Catalog Raisonné Feldman & Schellmann indicates
that the printing was done on commission.
During the early 1970s Warhol made a certain number
of works for political campaigns: 'Vote McGovern' depicting a macabre Richard Nixon, one of Mao's portraits in black and white, Jimmy Carter I and many others.
Screen printing can be considered a political print and
it is possible that it was intended for the Warhol exhibition at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington in 1975.
There are a limited number of versions from the Warhol Foundation including a 1983 edition for the Washington Post Magazine cover.
