Ratio Nina's career began in 1983 at the Mikhailovsky Theater in St. Petersburg. After an outstanding performance at the Tchaikovsky Competition, the rising star Rautio was invited to join the Bolshoi Theater as a principal soprano. During five years at the Bolshoi Theater, Ms. Rautio played the most major roles in the Russian opera repertoire: Tatyana in "Eugene Onegin" by Tchaikovsky, Lisa "Queen of Spades" by Tchaikovsky, Joan in "Made of Orleans "Tchaikovsky, Mariya in" Mazeppa "Tchaikovsky, Oksana in" Christmas Eve "Rimsky-Korsakov; and also the Italian Amelia in "Un Ballo in Mascherra" by Verdi, Santuzza in "Cavalleria Rusticana" by Mascagni. In 1991 Nina Rautio made his first appearance on the international stage as Joan in "Maid of Orleans" and Tatyana in "Eugene Onegin" at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and Washington. "In the West" Ms. Rautio was immediately acclaimed for his exceptional talent. In 1991 he received an invitation from La Scala Opera soprano guest for the title role of "Manon Lescaut" by Puccini. Only after several trials the director Lorin Maazel has promoted the young soprano Nina Rautio in the cast of the first and offered a recording with Sony Classical. Both performances that recording they made a triumph.
