Description

Riccardo Stracciari (Casalecchio di Reno 1875 - Roma 1955)

He started his career in 1899 in the Resurrection of Lazarus by Lorenzo Perosi. The debut took place at the Scala in 1904, the one at the Metropolitan in 1906. On July 7, 1909 he was initiated into Freemasonry in Fantiscritti Loggia di Carrara, November 26, 1912 became a Master Mason. He officially retired from the stage in 1937, however, making you occasionally return until 1944 where he played for the last time, in Como, Germont in La Traviata. The impeccable phrasing made him a great interpreter of Verdi (Rigoletto its famous La Scala, alongside Mercedes Capsir and Dino Borgioli later then recorded in 1929) and Donizetti, but his forte was the character of Figaro in Seville Barbieredi Rossini, who played for over 1,400 performances. Portrait fotorafico baritone autographed Renata Veronesi. Dated March 8, 1937.
