Gigliola Frazzoni (Bologna 1923 - ivi 2016)

She debuted in 1947 in Pesaro in Francesca da Rimini and the following year he was at the Teatro Duse in Bologna as Mimi. He then made a quick success in the most important Italian theaters, from the Scala, where, among other productions, in 1957 he participated at the premiere of Dialogues of the Carmelites. It appeared also in Rome, Turin, Venice, Palermo, Parma and Verona Arena, where he performed regularly from 1956 to 1972. Since 1954 he sang abroad, especially in Monaco of Bavaria, Stuttgart, Wiesbaden, Zurich, Vienna , Bordeaux, Dublin, Cairo. It was a dramatic soprano, with a preference for Verdi roles, Puccini and verismo composers like Mascagni, Leoncavallo, Giordano. It is remembered in particular for his portrayal of Minnie in La Fanciulla del West. photo Portrait of the famous soprano autographed all 'Choral Academy Bolognese.
