The painting is signed by the painter Jan Josef Horemans, a Flemish painter, follower of David Teniers. The scene, a domestic interior, is part of his typical production genre scenes, drinkers and players.
This canvas shows the typical features of Flemish scenes with strong realism.
The picture was painted, probably around the first two decades of the eighteenth century.
