Ivory crucifix - probably Spain, 17th Century


carved elephant ivory (Elephas maximus Linnaeus, 1758 or Loxodonta africana Blumenbach, 1797) “Corpus Christi” depicted without a thong and almost bald. Height x width 30 x 17 cm. Weight 354 gr. Item condition grading: **** good. Accompanied by Ce.S.Ar. Centro Studi Archeometrici certificate of authenticity (pre-1947).
