German ivory carving - 19th Century


elephant ivory and wood carving (Elephas maximus Linnaeus, 1758 or Loxodonta africana Blumenbach, 1797) depicting a portrait of a woman, in the manner of Hans Holbein. Height x width 37.2 x 30.2 cm. Item condition grading: **** good. Accompanied by Ce.S.Ar. Centro Studi Archeometrici certificate of authenticity (pre-1947).
