Italian silver sugar pot - Turin 19th Century, mark of CARLO BALBINO

oval shaped body decorated resting on four feet; the lid with pomegranate-shaped final. Stamped with the Italian hallmarks for 800/1000 silver in use after 1873, silversmith Carlo Balbino who deposited his own mark with "the imprint of a lion" and his initial letters in 1824 (Ref. Bargoni, Maestri orafi e e argentieri in piemont page 263 nr. B17). Height x length x depth 10 x 13.5 x 7 cm. Weight 280 gr. Item condition grading: ***** excellent.
