A 'SATSUMA' STYLE CERAMIC VASE

Japan, Meiji period

Slender in shape, the maximum width of the diameter near the shoulders surmounted by a cylindrical neck with flared mouth, on the outside an elegant autumn scene with sparrows flying amidst maples and chrysanthemums, painted in rich polychromy with gold, signed 薩摩 ... (Satsuma ...) with Shimazu emblem to the center of the base.
