GRAND PRIX (1967, directed by John Frankenheimer)
Original documents, letters and stage photos
Interesting lot concerning the production of the 1967 film GRAND PRIX, directed by John Frankenheimer, which was filmed at the Monza racetrack for the racing scenes. The film was a worldwide success, winner of Academy Awards, Golden Globe, with actors such as James Garner, Yves Montand, Eva Marie Saint, but also of real pilots such as Graham Hill, Phil Hill, Jack Brabham, J.M Fangio. There are several original typewritten letters from THE GRAND PRIX COMPANY production (various signatures, by the director Frankenheimer, by Sam Gorodisky and others) addressed to the Management of the Monza racetrack, where permits are requested, estimates, payments are sent, etc. April September 1966. Scene photographs measures 24x20 cm, test photos measures approx.5x5 cm, lists of the crew, a map of the Monza racetrack, the original tickets for seats on the stands so that thousands of real people could take he starts filming as a paying public on August 21,22,23, publication of the presentation of the film, an original poster, dozens of newspaper clippings of the time concerning the making of the film, and other paper. Unmissable lot for fans of Formula 1 and action cinema. All in excellent condition.
