Description

Freddie Mercury (1945-1991)
Cufflinks

Pair of metal cufflinks with STAFFORDSHIRE POLICE emblem, in original box, belonged to Freddie Mercury. These cufflinks were given to him by Jacky Gunn, the founder of the official Queen Fan Club. The box bears a dedication by Jacky "Freddie every year I send Straff Police a bundle of goodies for their charity day, so they sent these this year as a thankyou - one set each !! JX". The lot is part of a series of objects that belonged to Freddie Mercury, and donated by Jim Hutton (1949-2010, Freddie Mercury's last companion) to an Italian fan friend of Jim himself, in 1995/96. Together with the cufflinks we have a photo of the Italian fan embraced by Mary Austin, heiress of Mercury's estate, in front of the Mercury house in Logan Place 1 in London
