TWO SANCAI GLAZED CERAMIC SCULPTURES OF CAPARISONED BACTRIAN CAMELS
China, Tang dynasty style

The two beasts with their heads turned upwards and their mouths open to growl, both saddled, one carrying baskets with small animals, the external surface with dark orange, green and ocher glaze, the details of the thicker fur with transparent glaze, each with its own shaped wood base.
