Slender flagon with ovoid body on overturned bell foot, high neck and trilobate mouth.
ORVIETO; early years of the 14th Century.Archaic majolica painted in three colours: green, white and brown.
H. 27.5 cm; Ø base 9.5 cm. Cond.: excellent body; handle reconstructedThis fine flagon is adorned with a very rare latticework pattern of naturalistic inspiration and based on contemporary illumination. It is worth pointing out that very few 14th century pieces of this kind have survived virtually intact, and certainly none with this particular pattern.
