Cardinal Pacelli (Pope Pius XII), Antonelli Costaggini Gioacchino (Palatine Guard of Honor)
Documents and cards, autographs

Interesting lot that belonged to Colonel Antonelli Costaggini Gioacchino, appointed Honorary Colonel of the Palatine Guard of Honor of His Holiness in 1938, under Pope Pius XI. The lot includes: a beautiful photograph of the colonel in full uniform with felucca and medal collection in good evidence; a card numbered 389 dated 1933 with a burgundy leatherette cover, signed by the commander Enrico Vuillemenot; a 33 numbered card belonging to the body, dated 1939 and signed by the commander Francesco Cantuti Castelvetri, in cardboard with a blue leatherette cover; the letter of appointment as Honorary Colonel dated March 29, 1938, and autographed by the then Cardinal Pacelli, future Pope Pius XII. Original autographs handwritten by Pacelli and the commanders of the corps
