A LACQUERED AND PAINTED TABLE WITH CHINOISERIE MOTIFS

probably Venice, 18th-19th century

The table has a tilting octagonal top supported by a column with three curved feet, the entire external surface lacquered in black, painted in polychromy with motifs of Far Eastern inspiration, the top with an exuberant frame of baroque leaves to enclose an octagonal reserve with an elegant decoration of 'Chinese-style' figures engaging daily activities, the scene set in a glimpse of landscape.
