English Victorian tortoiseshell coffer - 19th century

of rectangular shaped made entirely of tortoiseshell (hawksbill sea turtle, Eretmochelys imbricata, Cheloniidae). Hinged lid set with an 1826 silver coin depicting King George IV.


Height x width x depth: 13 x 18.5 x 11 cm. Weight 550 g.

Item condition grading: **** good (minor defects commensurate with use over time).


Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity Ce.S.Ar. Centre for Archaeometric Studies.
