House of Hohenstaufen, Frederick II (1198–1250), Augustale, Messina, after 1231; AV (g 5,27; mm 22; h 7); CESAR AVG IMP ROM, laureate and draped bust of Frederick II r., Rv. + FRIDERICVS, eagle standing l., with open wings and head r. Kowalski V 3 A 52; Spahr 98; MEC XIV, 514-515.
Very rare variant (double dotted border) and a very nice couple of dies; flan crack, anyway extremely fine.
