The work "Ditta Briguglio" is part of a rare series of paintings dedicated to the well-known entrepreneur Ferdinando Briguglio, owner of "Briguglio Establishment", a company specialized in citrus processing that gave work to more than five hundred families. In addition to being known for the company, Briguglio was also known for his sensitivity towards the artistic world, which in 1948 led him to found Briguglio Film, with which he produced two films, one of which was awarded at the Venice Film Festival. In this specific painting, it is also possible to trace the references to Fortunato Depero's futuristic-advertising traits. It was the latter who pushed D'Anna towards futuristic research, after the meeting at the Principal Library of Messina in 1926, where Depero was exposing.
