Andy Warhol chooses ten black transvestives, photographs them with the Polaroid and transfigures them with his colorful brush strokes, making ten different portraits titled 'Ladies & Gentleman'.
For the first time the artist decides not to immortalize stars, but unknown people, faces from the street, the 'different ones’ of New York nights.
His life masks are timeless faces, human models replicated in his colorful, ironic, and provocative variants
