Roman carnelian intaglio. Gryllos. The depiction is composed of a Silenus mask and a Pan one, with caprine horns; below there is Pan's flute (the syrinx). Allegorical subject of a singular charm, and a strong apotropaic value. Chipping in the upper part. Wear marks and traces of the ancient iron mounting.
