Description

A roman nicolo-agate intaglio. Hercules and the nemean lion. The hero is fighting against the lion, strangling it with his arms. Next to him, a palm branch, as a presage of victory against the wild animal. The club is at Hercules' feet. Taking into consideration the very small size of the engraving field, we can say this is a well done work. Ground line. Light wear marks. 2nd - 3rd century A.D.
9 x 10 x 3 mm
