Firenze 1895 – Beverly Hills 1968
Four letters plus a note on headed notepaper. The correspondence is addressed to the then director of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Guido Guerrini. They are long letters discussing the Florentine musical life and in particular Vittorio Gui. Twelve pages long, accompanied by a US mail envelope, it is the letter that the composer wrote following the death of his mother Noemi Senigaglia. The letter contains the date 1940, the year of his mother's departure, who had been his first music teacher: “… scrivevo poco fa a Paola Ojetti che questa amarissima perdita della Mamma mi ha restituito il ricordo di molti amici dei quali da mesi e mesi non avevo notizie …”.
