A signed autograph postcard, dated 1929, addressed to the composer Ottorino Respighi to introduce the French soprano Madeleine Gray, a well-known French singer, who collaborated and was friends with Ravel. Two tickets with autograph notes and an ex libris are included in the lot. Castelnuovo – Tedesco's musical production attracted the attention of Alfredo Casella, who included it in the repertoire of the National Music Society (founded by Casella in 1917) and already in 1922 works by Castelnuovo-Tedesco were performed in Salzburg at the first International Society festival for Contemporary Music. In 1925, with La Mandragola, he won an important composition contest and the opera was performed at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice. Arturo Toscanini and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra premiered several works by Castelnuovo-Tedesco.
