A typewritten letter, dated 5 gennaio 1933, with handwritten signature, in which the author regrets the choice to replace his pupil, the French soprano Madeleine Gray, in the performance of the "Chansons Madécasses" at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in 1933. The singer was replaced owing to her Jewish origins: "j'apprends que Madeleine Gray, qui avait été choisie pour chanter les Chansons Madécasses au Festival of Florence doit etre remplacée par une autre cantatrice: vous m'en voyez désolé ...".
