A CREAM-GLAZED ‘LION’ PILLOW
China, Liao dynasty

14x19 cm

The oval base supporting a crouching lion, the headrest of convex oval shape with lobed shorter sides, overall covered with a glaze of ivory tone, the unglazed base with a pierced hole to the centre.
