Provenance: probably Mario Prodan collection, Rome; Italian private collection.

Mario Prodan was a pioneer in the study of Chinese art in Italy, author of two widely circulated publications: "Incontro con l'arte cinese" (1956) e "Le ceramiche T'ang" (1961). He was also successfully active in the market, importing numerous objects from China at least until the beginning of World War II.
