A roman carnelian intaglio. Allegorical emblema referring to Jupiter Serapis.
6 x 10 x 3 mm
In the lower part, a foot, where a snake is wraping itself aroun the ankle. On top, the bust of Jupiter Serapis wearing the modius. Ground line. Rare and interesting magical representation referring to mysterious cults. Chips on the edge and slight wear marks.
2nd-3rd century AD.
