Description

A roman carnelian intaglio. Fortuna-Tyche.
intaglio 11 x 15 mm
The personification of abundance and fortune is winged, helmeted and draped, holding with the left hand; a stick, two ears of corn, a caduceus. Internal cracks. The bezel is still fixed on the original iron mounting (fragmentary). Wear marks.
2nd-3rd century AD.
