Impression taken from a sardonyx intaglio by N. Marchant, circa 1784, for Francis Henry Egerton, Duke of Bridgewater (1736-1803), inspired by the sarcophagus coll. Borghese (Louvre, Paris); Cades 66, 409 ("from the bas-relief already in vila Borghese now in Paris"). Grand Tour Era production. For comparisons: L.P.B.
