Two small Mugs

Two three-lobed mouth mugs, elongated body, disc-shaped support.
Majolica decorated in soft colours; within a round are the emblem of a confraternity, referred to the "Ven. Compagnia del SS. Crocifisso del Gonfalone in Fermignano".
H. cm.20; h. cm. 15,50. Cond: restorations.

Fermignano (Pesaro and Urbino),1710 - 1720.
€ 1.200

The two very rare jars have as their emblem a high cup (Santo Gral ?) with a Crucifix on top and two stars on the sides. It is compared with a notice of convocation of the Company of the Banner of the twentieth century in Fermignano. However, the jugs have much older characters and should be referred to the production of a ceramic factory started on site in 1710 by Felice Armaroli Fermignanese, which lasted only ten years.
