A BRONZE TRIPOD VESSEL AND COVER, DING
China, Western Han dynasty

The hemispherical container supported by three feet, at its sides two ring handles, three similar handles also on the upper area of the domed lid.

14,5 cm high

Provenance : Fabrizio Savi collection, acquired from Anthony J. Allen, Auckland, New Zealand, between 1995 and 2000.

This form, with the particular presence of the rings on the lid, had a great diffusion throughout the Chinese territory especially between the 3rd and 2nd century B.C..
