Three photos (India): two with men and elephants, one with a camp with hunters, 1893

Pigment-carbon printing applied to cardboard, high weight, 21.5 x 16 cm (including cardboard 33 x 24 cm)

Header of the photographer and cliché applied to the front, a printed dedication to the archduke Franz Ferdinand.

Provenance: Italian private collection.
Eduard Hoker, taxidermist and photographer, was selected along with other professionals to accompany the Archduke of Austria Franz Ferdinand (1863-1914) on a journey that in 1892-1893 would have led him around the world for scientific and ethnographic purposes . The three photos presented here are entitled and dated: “57. Indien, Nepal, Cattani Camp. “Elegantem im Bad” 21. März 1893”; “53. Indien, Nepal “Daktha-poli” 17. März 1893”; “64. Indien, Nepal, “Die Jagd-Elefanten” Kal-mohana 28 März 1893.”.
