Living room set attributable to Paolo Buffa , Italy , 40s-50’s

Living room set consisting of 2 bergerè armchairs and a 3-seater sofa attributable to Paolo Buffa. The seats have a walnut frame and original velor upholstery. Note the classic brass studs in the fixing points of the cover to the frame. Sofa 200x85x102h

The Italian architect and designer Paolo Buffa (1903-1970) was active between the 30s and 60s, and is known for his furniture that blends neoclassical style with Art Deco motifs and modernist principles. His pieces are often devoid of trademarks or distinctive signs, therefore making them difficult to authenticate. The set of seats in question is part of those conventionally attributed as verifiable also on sites specialized in the sale of design won such as pamono.com and firstdibs.com.
While the armchairs are relatively easy to find on the collectors' forums, the 3-seater sofa represents an authentic rarity, indeed perhaps a real one, given the original and excellent conditions in which it is placed
