Roman Marble Relief with a Sea Monster, 2nd - 3rd century AD; length cm 24x17, wide cm 5; Realized in low relief, the paws of a sea lion or leopard, on fluctuating marine waves. Iconography widespread from the 2nd century AD as shown by the mosaics of the Adrian period. Provenance: English private collection, bought before 2000s.
