A large italic agate intaglio. Emblema.
1st century B.C.
11 x 18 x 2 mm

The allegorical composition is formed by three elements: In the center a caduceus with crossed rudder and burning torch. This depiction is referred to the prosperity and to the underworld as attributes of Tyche and of Hermes Psychopompus. Use of fine engraved globular elements.
