Wilhelm Lorenz

Lions, XX Century
Drawing in pencil on ivory-colored paper, 29.7 x 39.8 cm
Lions is a beautiful original drawing in pencil on ivory-colored paper realized in the XX century by the German artist Wilhelm Lorenz, also known as Willi Lorenz. Some interventions were made with a blender.
This original artwork represents a lioness and a lion in profile and at rest, realized with a rapid and sure touch.

Wilhelm (Willi) Lorenz (Germany, 1901–1981)
Wilhelm Lorenz, also known as Willi Lorenz, was a German painter specialized in paintings of animals typically hunted as a game. His highly detailed oil paintings evoke the texture and movement of animals like boars, foxes, buffalos, and lions, depicted in their natural habitats and attitudes. His artworks resemble the works by Max Josef Hänger Lorenz. Willi Lorenz attended the Düsseldorf Academy of Art before moving to Cologne to start his artistic career.
This modern artwork is in excellent conditions, with some sporadic pencil stains on the lower margin.
