Description

Amandine Doré

Chéri tu es vraiment mon homme!, Half XX Century
China ink and watercolor on watermarked Johannot paper, 33 x 25 cm
Chéri tu es vraiment mon homme! is an amusing China ink and watercolor on watermarked Johannot paper made by the French painter, illustrator and writer Amandine Doré in the second half of the 20th century.
On the lower right, in capital letters, there is the signature “Almandine Doré” and below the witty inscription “Chéri tu es vraiment mon homme! / Tu ao beson d’une novelle robe?”. The artwork represents a young nude woman with an old man.

Amandine Doré (Paris, 1912-2011) is one of the pseudonyms of Odette Amandine Bonne, also known as “Aurèa” or “Madame”, according to the type of subject matter of her artworks.

Amandine was a French painter, illustrator, and writer. Her production varied from erotic to travel illustrations. With her fascinating drawings, she illustrated the classics of erotic literature, books of poetry, magazines, and most of her husband’s books (the Belgian author T’Serstevens, with whom she often travelled).
The state of preservation is very good, except for a small tear on the higher edge of the watermarked paper.
