A CEREMONY KIMONO FOR CHILD
Japan, first half of the 20th century

A lively decoration on the back, embellished with golden thread embroidery, with the "Ship of Treasures" (Takarabune).

Provenance: Italian private collection.



The "Ship of Treasures" is a boat which ferries the popular divinities of the group of the "Seven Gods of Happiness". It appears punctually on New Year's Day, expected by the people as a bringer of luck, wealth and longevity.
