A CORAL CARVING SHOULAO SCULPTURE
China, early 20th Century

Japanese carved coral (Corallium Elatius) depicting Shoulao, the God of Longevity, represented with his typical large cranium, the right hand holding a walking stick, a peach in the left hand as a symbol of long life. Wooden base.
Sculpture height 30 cm. Sculpture weight 1010 gr. Item condition grading: **** good. Ce.S.Ar. Certificate of antiquity (pre-1947).
