After Raphael's frescoes in the Vatican; - II / III state as can be deduced from the inscriptions on the plate: on the right “Ant. Sal. Exc. " which refers to the publisher Salamanca (active from 1530, then from 1553 to 1577 in association with Lefrèry) and “Nicolaus Van Aelst for. Rome", identifing the proof after the death of Lefrèry, when Van Aelst became the publisher (from about 1580 to 1613), the engraving can be dated around 1585 (the first state is from about 1515)
