Description

The King and the Queen is an original artwork realized by Gérard Audran in the second half of the XVII century. Original etching on paper. Signed on the lower right corner.

The artwork represents a king on the left and a queen on the right under a dais. The figures are monumental and the volumes of the bodies are realized with contrasting and decise strokes.

This artwork was realized by the French artist Gérard Audran (Lyon, 1640 - Paris, 1703). Audran was an artist and engraver who took inspiration from the Italian old masters, such as Guercino, Dominicino, and Carracci.
