Giuseppe Taccani (Milano 1885 - ivi 1959)

He studied in Milan with great baritone Lelio Casini and debuted in 1904 with the Social Lecco in "Manon Lescaut". In 1905 he appeared at the Politeama Azeglio Bologna as Milio in "Zaza". Then he was a guest in Havana. He had a successful career in Italy. In 1908 she sang at the Teatro Regio in Turin and the Teatro San Carlo in Naples. In 1906 in Genoa he appeared in the premiere of '' Hermes '' Attilio Parelli. In 1908 she performed at the Politeama Argentino in Buenos Aires, in 1910 at the Teatro Khevidiale Cairo. In the 1908-1909 season he was part of the ensemble of the Manhattan Opera House in New York. In 1911 he made an appearance at the Teatro Regio in Parma as they Enzo '' La Gioconda '' by Ponchielli. In 1913 he performed at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome in the early works of "The Arabesca" by Domenico Monleone and "The Legend of the Seven Towers" by Alberto Gasco. In 1923 he appeared at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples in the premiere of "Morenita" Mario Persico. In 1930 he was a guest in the Netherlands; in 1929 he performed at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples in the premiere of '' Don Giovanni '' Felice Lattuada. Despite his great success in all the major stages of Italy he never sang at La Scala in Milan. Only in 1931 she sang, alternating with Francesco Merli the role of Radames in Aida of View. In the second part of his career, he appeared also in the repertoire of Wagner (Tannhäuser, Siegfried). Already in 1925 he appeared at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples as Tannhäuser in 1933 in Venice, Teatro La Fenice as Siegfried in "Siegfried" by Wagner. He had a long career that ended in 1949 with a representation of '' Cavalleria Rusticana '' to the Social Savigliano. After retiring he opened a school of singing.
