Domenico Viglione Borghese (Mondovì 1877 - Milano 1957)

He studied singing first at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan, then in Pesaro, directed by Pietro Mascagni and Conservatory in Rome. His debut in 1899 in Lohengrin in Lodi, interpreting the Herald part of the king; after two years of activity in Italy decided to move to the United States, in San Francisco, where thanks to Enrico Caruso resumed his career. In 1906 he returned to Italy, singing the role of Amonasro in Aida showing that in January 1907 he left the Teatro Regio di Parma followed by Vincenzo Gellner in La Wally. In 1908 Vincenzo Gellner in La Wally and Amonasro in Aida at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna and in 1909 Carlo Gérard in Andrea Chénier (opera) directed by Giorgio Polish Amedeo Bassi, Amonasro in Aida, Guarca in Rhea Spiro Samara Rina Giachetti and Edoardo Garbin, Kurvenaldo in Tristan and Isolde (opera) directed by Pietro Mascagni and Marcello in La bohème at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome where in 1910 it Torias in failure of the premiere Maja Ruggero Leoncavallo directed by Mascagni with Emma Carelli and Federico Telramondo in Lohengrin (opera). Also in 1910 Guarca in Rhea at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and Rigoletto at Teatro La Fenice in Venice where in 1911 Don Carlo in Ernani. As late as 1911 in Gianciotto Paolo and Francesca Luigi Mancinelli directed by the composer with Solomiya Krushelnytska in Rome and Jack Rance in La Fanciulla del West, in 1912 married Claudia Nappi. He continued his career even after the war, reaching a repertoire of about 70 works and recorded also many 78s for the Italian Society of Fonotipia, before retiring in 1940. After World War II began her acting career, starring in several films during the decade. He died suddenly during a stay in Milan. Photographic portrait artist autograph.
