A carved ivory tankard depicting "The rape of the Sabine" - Germany, 19th Century; ; on an unmarked metal foot with cultured pearls, amethyst, turquoise, sunstone. 26.7 cm, 10 33/64 in high overall, foot diameter 10.6 cm, 4 11/64 in, weight 840 gr. Item condition grading: **** good (pearls have been substituted). Ce.S.Ar. Certificate of Antiquity

This lot contains ivory/coral/ tortoiseshell. Due to recent changes in the laws of many countries (e.g. US, France) - about endangered species including but not limited to coral, ivory and tortoiseshell - BFA recommends that buyers check with their own government regarding any importation requirements prior to placing a bid.
