A pair of carved ivory opium boxes depicting nesting hens with spray of millet - China, early 20th Century (pre-1947); ; on a wooden bases. 11 cm, 4 21/64 in high overall, weight 245 gr each (sculpture circa 170 gr). Item condition grading: ***** excellent. Ce.S.Ar. Certificate of Antiquity
This lot contains ivory/coral/ tortoiseshell. Due to recent changes in the laws of many countries (e.g. US, France) - about endangered species including but not limited to coral, ivory and tortoiseshell - BFA recommends that buyers check with their own government regarding any importation requirements prior to placing a bid.
